October 25, 2009

Now it just becomes a waiting game. Charlotte is up to 4 lbs 7 oz and her feeds have been increased to 40mls every three hours, but she has taken a huge step backwards in feeding by bottle. Last week she had taken 30-40% of her milk by bottle. Yesterday it was 3% and that was a very difficult to coax out of her.

We've tried explaining to her that all she needs to do is eat and we can go home, but she can't be reasoned with.

Her second eye exam is Wednesday and hopefully the doctor will giver her a clean bill of health so more surgeries won't be necessary. After that we could go home pretty much anytime. So close and yet so far.

Ohh, she is so beautiful!

Good luck with the feeding, for us it was the biggest hurdle and the reason Willow was in the NICU so, so long. Hopefully Charlotte's lightbulb will turn on soon and stay on!!

Katie, Pat and Charlotte,

She is so beautiful! We are glad to see that things are going really well with the feedings and breathing on her own! We are excited for the day that you will be able to take her home!

She'll get there - One day at a time. Just think of how far she's come! I love the new photos of her by the way. Hard to believe it's the same baby we first saw photos of a little over 2 months ago.

Love you all! Marissa

She is looking great. Glad things are going good for her. I keep her in my prayers and hope she figures out that eating is a good thing it means she will get to come home.

Katie and Pat,

Charlotte is adorable. I can't believe how much she has grown! Hang in there. Thinking of you all and sending positive thoughts for Charlotte to get the hang of the bottle.
