Photo: Daddy enjoyed a helmet sundae at the Brewers game and Charlotte got the helmet. It's a pretty close fit. She'll be playing softball in no time.
Charlotte's 6 week birthday brought another good day! She is still on the high-flow nasal cannula, but the liters were reduced today from 3 to 2.5. If she continues to tolerate the high-flow cannula, she could be switched to the regular nasal cannula.
She continues to tolerate her feedings and as she enters her 34th week of life the nurses will watch for cues (cue-based feeding) to let her practice taking a small amount of food from a bottle. Breathing, swallowing and sucking are all instinctual, but the three together will take lots of practice.

Love the picture. I am so happy to hear that Charlotte is doing well.
The changes you see each day - aren't they miraculous! Still sending all my prayers and my love to you guys. Make sure you print off this blog and the one from carepages to put in her baby book! Someday she will know how many people loved her before they ever got to meet her. :)
I remember seeing that little helmet and thinking it was so small. It puts into perspective how little she is. What a cutey!!! She's got beautiful eyes!!!
yea! Charlotte!! We're rooting for you too!! You are one beautiful little girl!! We hope Mom and Dad are doing okay, too!! All our best wishes and prayers, you three!!

I love this picture! Just think - when she older and you see this, you will wonder how she could ever be that tiny.

I guess you will tell her that the "M" stands for Minnesota or Michigan. That is what I would tell her. But then again, Milwaukee sure has been good to her. She is looking better all the time. I know it has been a long six weeks for you two, but it will be great when she gets to go home.
Mel..
Pat-Charlotte looks a little afraid of your chest hair in this photo. Otherwise, it's just too adorable. I'm glad to hear that you're in the midst of another good streak in Charlotte's progress.
Thinking of you always,
Kelly
